Kara and Simon are close now. Kara is his Binky and they don't call them that in England.
*LEE DEWYZE
Fireflies? Really? There isn't a whole lot you can do with this song except oversing it. He's hitting a lot of the notes in a really weird way - I think I'd have liked it a lot more if he was less nasally. But he's nice to look at. Very nice to look at.
*ALEX LAMBERT
Isn't this the song Lee Dewyze tried out with? Or is that someone else. And the word "Worry" was so nasally. He's really nasally and boring period. He's a cute boy, apart from his little mullet thing. He just looks so robotic up there, it's pretty sad. I don't see him becoming a "cocky banana" anytime soon.
*TIM URBAN
Why is it that I've only just noticed his caveman eyebrows? Well, he changed the arrangement a little, but the chord change was an obvious way to cover up the fact that his range doesn't stretch that far.
*ANDREW GARCIA
Christina...Aguilera...? Genie in a Bottle? And another person playing a guitar. I sort of miss the belters on this show - not the cliche plus-sized balck girl belters, but the people who you wouldn't expect to be able to sing. Anyway, I digress. This arrangement is too fast, and he sounds like he's panting through the whole song and I don't like his diction. It was just weird.
*CASEY JAMES
And again. The guitar. I understand, a lot of people can play the guitar now. Anyway, I actually don't mind it much, except there are some spots where the vibratto was too much. The song sort of stayed at the same level the whole time.
*AARON KELLY
He's so afraid! I just want to give the poor kid a hug. He reminds me of AJ in season one. Does anyone remember him? He was actually a bit of a joke. I think Aaron would be PHENOMENAL, actually, if he nixed the nerves and the awkward knee bounce.
*TODRICK HALL
If you're gonna sing Queen, pick something other than Somebody to Love. I love the song, but it's been overdone. The theatrics, I can agree though, are appreciated after such a mundane night. But he's actually showing very little range with this arrangement too, save those notes at the end. I'm mad at Randy for comparing that to Glee, because Glee is ten times better. Sorry.
*MICHAEL LYNCHE
The little falsetto at the beginning sort of put me off, and I don't really dig the funeral suit pn tope paired with jeans. And he's actually not hitting the notes very cleanly, but everyone's standing and clapping excitedly. The big note close to the end was clean, the falsetto at the very end was not. I was bored. The judges are much easier to please than they used to be. And Kara is crying. That being said, it WAS miles and miles better than anyone else tonight.
Tonight, I'm ready to see Andrew and Alex go, but I doubt we'll lose Andrew Garcia. He just doesn't shimmer for me anymore. Whatevs. I'm indifferent.
