Top 24 (Boys)

And here are the boys! Woot! Rumor has it, they're better than the ladies - which is probably not going to be difficult. Andrew Garcia in the pimp spot tonight, why am I not at all surprised? I like him a lot, though, he reminds me of a friend of mine, so I will not complain.

I've never been an Ellen fan, but she strikes me as a really good judge. I actually like a lot of the things she says!

*TODRICK HALL
His little ditty was cute, and he has pretty eyes! Why have I not seen this guy? And his own version of "Since U Been Gone" -- really? I think this is really interesting! The bridge was way too low, but it fascinates me, and his stage presence is AMAZING. Already blows all of the girls out of the water. I liked that the song was completely changed because it was too much screaming on Kelly's part in the original. Judges don't agree, but I was entertained.

*AARON KELLY
Rascal Flatts! And... a cute little plaid shirt? He hasn't really found himself yet. He's doing the weird karaoke-rock-back-and-forth while he's singing. But he's really good and his falsetto isn't bad. He needs to work on his stage presence a bit, but he's a good singer, and he's kinda adorable in a baby-brother, pinch-his-cheeks sort of way.

*JERMAINE SELLERS
Oh dear. 'Tude boy. Singing MY song! "Get Here" also belonged to Justin Guarini. He's very breathy and there's not enough actual singing of the words in the chorus, too much falsetto screaming. And the falsetto is super flat.

*TIM URBAN
Wait, what? What's the story with this guy? Who was supposed to be in his place? "Apologize" is a good song, but what the heck is he doing? Cut him again, I'm already tired of his talk-singing, this is pathetic. The end. "If the sound was down and we're looking at ya, you're adorable!" in the words of Ellen.

*JOE MUNOZ
Uncomfortable eye contact with the camera. Looking away. Boring song when it's him performing, though it might be the accompaniment that makes it sounds monotone. He's shaking a lot, he must be really nervous. I'm not entertained.

*TYLER GRADY
"American Woman" is an interesting song choice, and right off the bat, he seems a little stoned or something. Blah.

*LEE DEWYZE
I love "Chasing Cars"! I didn't like the first few lines of the song in his arrangement, but after that, especially when the guitar started getting more audible, it got pretty badass. The notes sounded a little off, but I like him a lot. It's really raw and interesting. I think Snow Patrol is too gentle for him, as Randy pointed out.

*JOHN PARK
He's Asian! He's Asian! And Shania Twain loves him! Asian, Asian, Asian -- and "God Bless the Child." This song brings back memories of Mikalah Gordon, which make me puke. Anyway, John's voice is very jazzy and theatrical, which I personally like, and his runs seem much more natural. But I hear a slight Asian accent on a select few words. Personally though, my favorite so far. Simon has a point saying it wasn't that emotional, but voice-wise, I liked it.

*MICHAEL LYNCHE
Baby man! And Maroon 5! Love Maroon 5, but hearing him singing it made me think I was listening to Mike Tyson singing it. Not feeling it.

*ALEX LAMBERT
Wait a minute, nineteen in high school? And -- the crazy group woman! I remember hating her. He looks really scared on stage, and he's a bit more nasally than I'd like. Like, a nasally Danny Gokey.

*CASEY JAMES
My mommy has a crush on this one! I don't think he's bad either - and I love, love, love "Heaven", you have no idea. His vibratto is a little heavy in the beginning, but this feels much more genuine than the other performances tonight, and it sounds like something I might actually download to listen to, which I can't say about any of the other performances so far.

*ANDREW GARCIA
I've really liked this guy since we first saw him, so I'm on the bandwagon - I know he's being pimped shamelessly by the show. And a really interesting version of a Fall Out Boy song. It's like Mraz-ing Fall Out Boy. I'm actually not sure how I feel about this performance. I don't like his diction on this song, it actually bothers me in some parts.

So let's see...tomorrow I would like to see Tim and Joe go. That is all.
