Oh no, there's been an accident on the stage! And finally, American Idol does duets. I've been waiting for this for ages.
Rawwwwwkenrolllll!
Adam Lambert - Maybe it's just because I've been watching him in Wicked all day (right Ally?!) but I'm just not feeling this performance. But it's strange to me that I find the eyeliner attractive. I NEVER like eyeliner. And his range KILLS me in a good way. I personally love the dramatic flair he adds to everything. Kara sounds like she's having an orgasm right there. I guess she enjoyed it as well.
Allison Iraheta - I'm not feeling the fake hair. Apparently going to the same stylist as Adam does yield the same results every time. Her lipstick is yuck. I think I'm starting to get frustrated with the fact that she sounds like she's gargling when she's singing. And I'm not finding her attitude charming this week.
Kris Allen & Danny Gokey - I like this performance, the harmonies are so ON POINT. Kris is too soft-sounding and sweet to go totally rock on us.
Kris Allen - Kris is too cute and huggable to be hardcore. He has more of a folksy rock sound. He didn't have the sheer power factor like Adam, but Kris has a very different kind of charm. I personally like the softer sound, it's so much more accesible. I liked Adam's performance, but Kris has a more universal appeal.
Danny Gokey - In rehearsal, the Steven Tyler scream honestly sounded pitiful, and I've never called Danny pitiful. The phrasing was slightly off at times, but about halfway through the chorus it started to sound more like the Danny Gokey we know and love - and the scream sounded MUCH better. Not perfect, but better.
Allison Iraheta & Adam Lambert - I will admit that this duet is much better than the previous one. Allison, however, doesn't look natural. Adam you can tell he's just naturally flamboyant. And Allison, DICTION, please! The most enunciated phrase in the whole song for her was "Ooh yeah."
