More Power to You, Brittany McComb

First of all, the story can be found here, so you can familiarize yourselves more with it before I give my take.

I'm absolutely disgusted by the fact that they cut off her microphone. At first I had my doubts - when I first read the article, I thought that maybe the valedictorian, Brittany McComb, whose speech was cut off was making a speech about how sinners should go to hell, or something equally as judgmental.

That was absolutely not the case.

Her speech was wonderfully meaningful from what we are able to heard from the video, and is simply talking about something that gave meaning to her life and to her efforts - and it clearly, it paid off. She's the class valedictorian - that in and of itself should garner some respect. She's an educated individual who wanted to share with her fellow graduates her own individual inspiration. She wasn't forcing them to agree. She wasn't even asking them to agree. She was simply saying that in her on personal experience, it was finding her faith that made her efforts seem meaningful.

Even if you disagree with her, at least have some respect for her as an individual - be happy that she found something to motivate her, instead of being some deadbeat with no motivation and no goals.
