June...

So, it's finally June! Haha. In a little less than a month, I'm gonna be turning nineteen - there was a time when that sounded like such a big number, but now, when I've just finished a semester where I was pretty much the youngest person in all my classes, I'm beginning to change my mind about that.

It's just so strange - I remember when it was such a big deal to go from twelve to thirteen and become a teenager. Now, I've only got one year left of being a teen, but I realize that from here on out, there's even more to do, and it's going to take more strength to do it. Times are gonna come where the only person who can make things okay again is me, and I'm going to need to do things on my own. Now I realize that growing up isn't necessarily freedom.

When you're a child, you have your parents to tell you to do the right thing. When you grow up, you have to tell yourself.
