American Idol Finale

No! The season finale? I'm heartbroken - American Idol was seriously the way I made weeks go by a little faster. I need a new TV show to watch after this. Just to let you know, this is a rambling, live, stream-of-consciousness blog. Enjoy.

56 to 44, eh? It's not as close as the Ruben/Clay final, and I have a feeling I know who won. I'm not sure I'd be happy with what I think the result is going to be, even though I like them both.
"Team Archuleta" is a lot louder, younger...and blonder, haha. Matt Rogers and Mikalah Gordon still look the same.

This first song in the Top 12 medley is one of the songs they had in the Season 1 finale, except in Season 1, it was just the boys taking turns singing short solos. I like it better that way, but this one it a lot bigger and better choreographed with all of the other dancers, haha. It's just a testimony to how much American Idol has grown. Syesha Mercado looks especially skanky in that short-short ghetto fab jumpsuit. Thing.

Right after the commercial break, we don't even get a nice little blurb from Ryan Seacrest - we go right into some Nickelback. Hearing the two Davids singing together is actually a really nice juxtaposition, but when Cook was doing the harmony on the chorus, the high notes just kinda scraped by a little. But they're friends, and I like that. It really seems like they genuinely are fond of one another, not just playing nice for the camera.

The Love Guru! Haha - they both are really cute, I giggled at them. "I liked the weird...random...sitar music videos." Haha, thanks Archie. That was quotable. And Cookie's eyebrow arch - and other 90's references. "You'll have hair in weird and wonderful places." David Cook looks incredibly uncomfortable with all of this, and he just seems to be squirmy, haha. DON'T SHAVE COOKIE! Mike Meyers must be enjoying all of this pimping on American Idol. "I predict the winner will be an American citizen, 16-28 years of age, and not an employee of Fox Television. I predict the winner will be...DAVID. Mariska Hargitay! Good night!"

I really think Syesha really skanked out - but she gets to sing with Seal. And touch him. And dance with him. So, I can't help but think that being skanky has some sort of purpose. She's actually not singing this song well at all, but everyone's starstruck by Seal, so they don't notice. Oh, and Syesha isn't competing to win anything, so she can sing as bad as she wants.

"A contestant who really preferred to perform rather than sing." At least they reminded us of Jason Castro's best performance - this song really begged to be performed on a big stage. Snaps for Castro - Jason Castro, that is.

"Let the Good Times Roll" was cute, they were all so silly and the montage of all the videos was adorable. They all really seem to be the best meshed bunch.

THEY GET CARS! Haha, why am I not surprised? I love how they had to confirm that David Archuleta had a drivers' license.

SKunkhead doesn't seem to be able to move too well, or remember the words to this song. I can't even remember her name, I just know that she can sing and dance at the same time. Ramiele was cute in her tiny solo during "Hot Stuff". I didn't like the verses to the new Donna Summers song, but I really like the chorus, it sticks. Ramiele has the best rhythm out of all the girls, and Skunkhead has the worst. Ryan Seacrest's dance move on the stairs are very...interesting. Why does Syesha get center stage for this song? Is it because they pity her? I do. She was so nice and unique and genuine at first, and then she became plastic and skanky. She's a victim of pop culture socialization.

Carly and Michael - I don't like Carly, but I'm a fan of my Aussie, Michael Johns. He should have made it farther than Jason Castro at least. He's cuter too. They've got a little bit of chemistry, I'll give them that, and Carly's actually pretty from far away when you can't see the tat.

Jimmy Kimmel - how much should I tip Sanjaya?! Haha, it's so low that he capped on Chris Sligh, but that guy really was ugly. I loved the montage with Simon clips, ending with "Amazing" and a wink. Rosemary and Satan Cowell must be proud.

Summer of '69! Yay! I'm so happy for Michael, I always wante him to sing this song. And I almost forgot about David Hernandez. I guess he isn't as good a stripper as he thought. I like hearing the Davids singing 'Heaven.' Archie sang this song in Hollywood week and I downloaded it. The guys' voices mesh a lot better than the girls did. BRYAN ADAMS! He's looking good nowadays, but the boys are actually better than him as far as vocals go. Well, except Castro, but he's cute. I love the song he's singing. What's it called? considering that they keep saying "I Thought I'd Seen everything," I'll assume it's something along those lines. I really like Bryan Adams.

Oh, Jordin. Maybe it's just me, but I really don't ever hear about her, ever. I still think she should lose weight, and her voice never really had the same power as a lot of other idols.

David Cook rocking out is a nice, refreshing number - "Sharp Dressed Man" is a good song too, haha. This is what he oughta do, this sort of music. I hope he doesn't win, just for the fact that they're going to try and make him record music that isn't his niche.

Brooke White's little spotlight performance was cute, very down-home feeling. The bare feet added to that, obviously. It's definitely her style, not trying too hard. Flowerchild? Yes.

LOL. I just have to find that Guitar Hero commercial on Youtube, with Cookie in his skivvies a la Tom Cruise. That was ADORABLE!

Oh god, the Jonas Brothers. I don't really like them, I don't see what the big deal is, they sound so prepubescent. I'm tuning out of this performance.

Haha, I love going back on the old bad auditions - "It was all a bit possessed." "Take it, take it, take it! I gonna go into ACTRESSING!" my chest hurt with the "Let My People Go" dude, but Renaldo Lapuz really took the cake. That's one of my people! LOL, I'm so proud. He even had a band with him this time - a whole MARCHING BAND. He beats William Hung, because he really made his own song, and he's oddly talented, because he can still carry a tune, albeit a ridiculous one. He can't keep up with his own music though. Bt every one bonds over this song. You wanna know why? Because I'm your mothereffing BROTHER, bitch!

David Cook is really getting all of the spotlight in this show. Foreshadowing? Maybe. This is live blogging.

Who's this piano guy? One Republic? I'll need to Limewire them. And I really like David Archuleta singing this song, it's the sort of thing I could listen to constantly, regardless of my mood.

Urgh. Jordin Sparks. Checking out again, I don't like her. Both of the boys are better singers.

[x]

Hee. Zoned out a little for the boring parts. This is a long blog, huh?

Carrie's here, and she looks great - and I really like this song. She's been enjoying so much success lately, and this song is so bad-girl. She still looks so angelic, it doesn't seem like her. I still hear her singing "Jesus Take the Wheel" and "Ever Ever After."

Another Guitar Hero commercial! Haha, David Archuleta is even cuter doing it, he's just too demure to go pantsless. Hee. I need to get that one on YouTube too.

Kristy Lee Cook looks like the Bush twins, haha. And Skunkhead is still horrible as usual. The boys are looking very suave and MIB. Stripper David's tie is crooked. Is Cookie wearing eyeliner? I remember when Chris Daughtry did it, I laughed. He was just trying so hard that night.

I'm getting drained from blogging, and I can't believe it's almost over. I've never been so torn over a results show, and I don't know what I'm going to do without American Idol. I can't believe I have to wait until January for more American Idol.

I love how Simon copped out and said that for once, he is also alright with whoever wins.
*crosses fingers*

DAVID COOK!

I'm happy for him - I just hope they let him make the music he wants, he deserves it. He's had a tough, amazing run. And aww, he's crying! I really wanted my Archie to win, but I know he'll do well, and I'm happy for Cookie. I love him pointing to his brother saying, "This is all your fault."

"If you don't dream big, what's the use of dreaming?" - His song from last night was really fitting.

This winning song is nice too, but it doesn't have the oomph that his performances did last night.

What am I going to do without American Idol? I'm actually seriously heartbroken now. Well, until next time.

I still love my Archie!
