Amanda Overmyer ~
Oh, it's skunkhead. I don't know, I might have liked the tone of her voice if I could understand what she was saying, and if she didn't hae the background singers, I don't think the notes would have sounded right at all. I like Simon's honesty - she's quite predictable.
Kristy Lee Cook~
Eight days a weeeeeek. Haha, she's like Nikki McKibbin, always in the bottom, but never gone. Her voice isn't bad, but her outfit is atrocious. It looks a bit like a fish. The low notes kinda made me wince, but it's loads better than last week. It's sort of like karaoke, though, and I say without having heard the judges' criticism yet. Their verdict?
David Archuleta~
He's such a cutie - good sport for not minding them using the footage of him messing up. He's back! Yay! Haha, he's back in his element. I don't think he's got as much of a landslide advantage as he used to, but as far as seeing the American Idol as someone downhome and wholesome, charming, and possessing a more classic kind of talent as opposed to edgy talent, he's still got an upper hand. And he's my favorite. Simon called him amazing, nyah nyah!
Michael Johns~
My Aussie - why did you pick this song? It was so strange...it seemed like a bunch of moaning and random words. Plus, some of the notes were awkward, I don't even know if they were right or not.
Brooke White~
"Here Comes the Sun" seems perfect for her. I like the folk-sound to her voice. I think I've said before that she's not a powerhouse, but hold crud, she makes me smile. She's just so clean and bubbly and - jeez, I think she might charm her way to the top. Paula agrees with the smileyness. It's true, she couldn't have topped "Let It Be," and she was a bit talky, even if she was just trying to calm the audience down...she's just so SWEET.
David Cook~
I didn't actually pay that much attention to him until my mom pointed out that she liked him, and coincidentally, I think that was the weak he sang :Hello", which is probably my favorite so far. I actually really like him now, too. He has a lot of edge, personality, and TALENT, obviously. It took me a second to realize that he had a voice synthesizer, it was a surprise - he really does seem comfortable, like he's holding his own concert.
Carly Smithson~
Hee. They were just capping on her song too, that's sad. I'm not really digging it, it all seemed kinda awkward - she sang it well, but I couldn't look at her, and she didn't sing it too smoothly. And the flowers on her blouse distracted me horribly. "Dead of night" was a little flat, and the runs were out of place. I don't know, she annoys me.
Jason Castro~
Aww, haha. He's singing "Michelle" - it's funny listening to him practicing the French. His French sounds a little bit Italian. It's all a little bit muted, too mellow - but I know that's how he is. I could still listen to him all the time, though, just not that song so much.
Syesha Mercado~
G'damn! Cleavage! LOL - yes, girls notice those things too. "I wanna touch everybody tonight." I think it was a really sweet rendition, she's back on my good side for now. One run slipped up a little, but she looks really pretty tonight. Snaps for Syesha!
Chikezie~
I was surprised that he was choosing to play an instrument he'd never played before. I like the song, it's really sweet. He seems like a really nice person. The harmonica was an interesting harbinger for the change of pace. I thought it'd be strange, but I actualy sort of liked it.
Ramiele Malubay~
"Momma Brooke." That's so cute! Haha. She's so tiny onstage! There's the Pinay in her, haha. It's nice to see her actually hit bigger notes and hopped around a bit - I think she needs to just bust out a little, and that song didn't do it for her.
I think we're losing either Kristy, Michael, or Amanda. Maybe the last one's wishful thinking. Hee!
